The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh has announced to release Stree Shakti scheme from 15 August 2025. The scheme is a free travel facility for all women in Andhra Pradesh. On 11 August 2025 Monday state government issued an order that the women of Andhra Pradesh will get a free transport facility in APSRTC and APPTD all over the state. The government is taking all the precautionary measures for the successful implementation of the Street Shakti scheme. As per the government order, all girls, women, and transgender individuals are eligible for the scheme. This scheme is only implemented in Metro Express, express services, ultra Pallevelugu, city ordinary and Pallevelugu.

The women will not get the benefit of the scheme in non-stop services, package tours, chartered services and contract carriage services. In the recent order the mentioned that the scheme is not applicable for the star liner, super luxury, ultra-Deluxe, Saptagiri Express and AC buses. This scheme because a huge burden on the road transport corporation of Andhra Pradesh and causes a loss of up to rupees 2000 crore every year. But despite this loss, the government finally fulfilled its promise that it had made during the election time in Andhra Pradesh.
