To empower the poor women who are related to urban areas, the government introduced the AP Digi Lakshmi Scheme. As the name suggests, the government initiative is to empower the Needy women and establish the common service centres (CSCs) all over the state. As per the government scheme, the common service centre will be run by the self-help group SHG women. This scheme and the service centre are part of one family, one entrepreneur initiative, and help to transform self-help groups into small and medium enterprises SMEs.

The government will construct around 9034 common service centres across urban local bodies for Eligible women. The women who are looking for financial income opportunities must join the CSC and earn money by providing common services to the general public. These common service centres will be run by the selected SHG members. These members will be called as Digi Lakshmi. Women’s empowerment is the main motive for the current government in Andhra Pradesh, so they are continuously creating more opportunities for women across the state. One such opportunity is given by the TDP Party for the self-help group women. The government want to convert self-help groups into small medium enterprises is the vision of this initiative. The financial assistance provided for the women under this scheme will help them to build their business and to become self-dependent.

They will also provide the loan facility to these self-help group women to start their own business. The women who have graduated will be selected from the particular area then the training will be provided by common service centres. The women of self-help group should continue with SHG for a minimum of 3 years. The age eligibility for the self-help group for women is 21 to 40 years and they must be active members. The women’s who will be selected, they will work under CSC centres.

Eligibility Requirements

• This is only for the women of Andhra Pradesh
• The government required a graduate degree holder with good experience in digital electronics, mobile phones and computers.
• The age requirement for the Digi Laxmi job at CSC Centres is 21 to 40 years.
• The women should belong to self-help group.
• She should be a permanent member of self-help group.
• Women should have been connected with the self-help group for the past 3 years.
• Women must know how to use an Android phone or a smartphone.
• All the women who will be selected should not have any employment.
• The woman should be fully dependent on her husband.

Duties Of Women

As per their eligibility criteria, educational qualification and knowledge in technical fields they will be assigned for different duties. All the selected women will provide 250 services to the general public. All these services will be offered by CSCs which will be operated by Digi Lakshmis. The initiative helps to support the government’s mission of eliminating poverty in the municipal areas.

Latest Update For SHG Womens

As per the latest news on 1st July 2025, the department has released GO No. 117 under which they provide the permission to implement the Scheme as soon as possible. As per the news, the common service centre will be maintained by the self-help group members, commonly known as Digi Lakshmi. The Andhra Pradesh government has been trying to build an entrepreneur from the family. The government will soon open 254 service centres in Chittoor City, Punuganur, Nagari, Kuppam, etc.
