Odisha Homestay Scheme 2025

This is a new initiative by the state government to promote tourism in the state and to provide employment facilities for people in rural areas. The government provide 50% financial assistance to build a homestay. The amount given by the government is Rs 2.5 lakh per rented room. Along with this, the government also provide the maximum incentive for the home stay of rupees 10 lakh.

The government provide the preference for the SC, ST, women and disabled persons. This Scheme is launched by the Tourism Department Administration and the partnership department. The government want to implement this to promote tourism in the rural and less known areas in Odisha. Eligibility Criteria

• The government provide this facility for all the permanent residents of Odisha.
• The people belonging to the scheduled Panchayat are eligible for the scheme.
• The age requirement to set up a new homestay is above 18 years.
• The Eligible beneficiaries must have a valid Aadhar card linked with their bank account.

Who is not Eligible?

• The people who are doing the job under the government or the state government department are not eligible for the scheme.
• Those who want to set up a homestay on their land must have their land ownership and a valid lease agreement.
• The government provide financial incentives only to those who belong to SC, ST, women and persons with disability.
• If there is any dispute on the land, then the beneficiaries are not eligible to build a homestay on that land.

Financial Amount

• The government provide 50% investment for the construction of the Homestay. The Block Development Officer BDO who is a member of the Homestay committee, will identify the applicants who are eligible for the scheme.
• Those who are eligible for the scheme will get one-time financial assistance from the state government.
• The government provide rupees 2.5 Lakh for a Homestay with a maximum of 4 rooms.
• The maximum amount provided by the government is rupees 10 lakh per home stay.
• The first preference will be given to the Reserve category people.
• If the government does not find the eligible beneficiaries under the scheme, then the Reserve seat will be given to the other category applicants.
